I almost wish I was American so that I could sign up. I've recently left the Scottish National Party because I felt they were starting to care more about presentation than principles - one example was the local branch trying to discourage debate on the current leadership election, which is a very un-Scottish attitude to debate to my mind, and another was one of the party's most prominent spokeswomen saying that gay rights should not be a priority - so I'm feeling rather disgruntled with our political scene right now.
