I think probably one should not read
Wuthering Heights
for the first time when one is nearly thirty and happily married and a psychologist.
Because, sweet Jesus, I'm supposed to think that's
romantic?

That was my favorite too. I didn't care much for the sequel,
Jo's Boys
, in which all the boys are grown up. The other Alcott book I really liked was
Eight Cousins
.

I liked
Eight Cousins
too! I reread
Rose in Bloom
recently, though, and it seemed entirely too weepy to me.

I just read Eight Cousins. It's profoundly fluffy and preachy, but I would have liked to live their life.
