I think probably one should not read Wuthering Heights for the first time when one is nearly thirty and happily married and a psychologist.

Because, sweet Jesus, I'm supposed to think that's romantic?

That was my favorite too. I didn't care much for the sequel, Jo's Boys, in which all the boys are grown up. The other Alcott book I really liked was Eight Cousins.

I liked Eight Cousins too! I reread Rose in Bloom recently, though, and it seemed entirely too weepy to me.

I just read Eight Cousins. It's profoundly fluffy and preachy, but I would have liked to live their life.
