I'm much less sick than I was last time. Some definitely nasty coughing-and-shortness-of-breath episodes, but nothing that didn't go away in time. Although I don't have a great deal of mental energy, I don't have that vacant, checked-out feeling I had for days on end before. I'm eating well - ravenously, actually - and sleeping adequately. Truth to tell, I wish I were sleeping more. I'm pretty tired most of the time, but for some reason I've had trouble getting more than eight hours of sleep out of 24.

curiousangel. Before I got sick, he'd made reservations at our favorite sushi restaurant - the one that serves the "pretty in red roll," red tuna wrapped around the outside of a king crab and avocado roll, with a streak of red chili sauce and a streak of creamy pale green slightly-wasabi-ish sauce across the top. It's out in the suburbs where we used to live, so we haven't been there since we moved. I rested all afternoon (although I didn't really sleep, damn it) to work up the energy to go out, and except for some breathing trouble both times I had to walk to the car, I did great. Mmmm, sushi. I got the whole pretty in red roll to myself, because curiousangel doesn't like avocado. Mmmm, curiousangel. wcg also stopped by with the best Valentine's Day gift ever: a copy of Irresistable Forces, which has Lois McMaster Bujold's novella about Miles' wedding, "Winterfair Gift." I heard her read the first half at Minicon lo these many years ago, and have been waiting for the book with impatience ever since.
I'm thinking that I'll go to work tomorrow, but I'm planning to (a) get a ride instead of taking the bus, and (b) stay in my office all day instead of venturing out to run subjects or something. Or maybe I'll stay home, but I hate to keep doing that. I'm low energy, and I can't really move around too much, but that doesn't mean I can't do my job. Parts of my job. Right?
