I got a lousy night's sleep.

At some point I woke up and, tossing and turning, wondered whether I should just get up even though I could tell it was still early. Then I picked up the clock and checked the time: 2:30am. Uh. Not that early. It was hot in the bedroom, and [livejournal.com profile] curiousangel was tossing and turning too. It took forever to calm down my mind, which was skipping forward at an enormous pace through nothing-in-particular, and go back to sleep.

Then it really was morning, and I woke up for good before I even really felt like opening my eyes all the way. Staggering and squinting and in the foulest of moods, but awake. Argh.

And the milk has gone sour, so I can't have cereal for breakfast. And we don't have any English muffins or breakfast bars in the house. And I'm out of cookies, so I can't even have my usual non-breakfast breakfast.

This just isn't shaping up to be my day.

I'm sorry. :(

Nothing's worse than no milk in the morning. I'm glad you found out it was sour before you ingested it.

I go through long periods of not being a cereal eater, during which I don't care about milk in the morning. But these days I've developed an addiction to Kashi Good Friends cereal (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000CD04B/ref%3Dnosim/gnugk-20/104-2771591-3044722). It's so crunchy.

I require milk for coffee, or I have to just take a deep breath and plunge forward.

Ack! You're not supposed to adopt my worst characteristics, okay?

Hope you get some better sleep tonight.

I can't drink coffee - too hard on my stomach. Mornings for me involve strong black tea.

I slept intermittently last night too. Then I got up at 6:30 to come to work, where I am now.

Thanks, though I wasn't trying to win anything. I'd just like to wrap things up and get out of here.

I do exactly the same thing. Weeks will go by where I have no interest in cereal and then all of a sudden I'll want it desperately and the milk will have gone bad. Luckily this morning when you telepathically sent me your cereal craving (the only possible explanation for why I got up at an ungodly hour craving cereal) I still had good milk.
