*stomp stomp stomp* Grrrrrr.
Nov. 23rd, 2004 07:20 pmI'm on the Long-Range Planning committee at our church.
I'm supposed to be at a Long-Range Planning committee meeting right now, as a matter of fact.
I had volunteered to enter and analyze the data from a recent congregational survey, so that we could use it to guide our planning. Not a huge survey - 84 responses - but most of the responses were narrative comments, instead of checkboxes, so it took quite a while to get it all typed in, and then even longer to get it organized and broken down into themes and sub-themes and so forth, for useful analysis.
I did it. I prepared an eight-page narrative summary of the congregation's hopes, goals, and values, and three pages of colorful graphs illustrating demographic and church participation variables for the survey sample. I busted my ass to get it done in time for the meeting tonight.
And then I found myself standing on the front steps of the committee chair's darkened house, reports in hand, calling Michael to ask him to look up the phone numbers of the other committee members so I could ask them where everybody was.
The meeting was cancelled.
And they forgot to tell me.
Grrrrr.

Holiday music exchange.
Nov. 23rd, 2004 08:18 pm(1)
akirlu,
jmhm,
green_knight, and
pecunium: If you want to participate in the exchange, please send me your mailing address.
(2) I think we're doing round-robin exchange groups of four, but it will depend on the final size of the exchange.
(3) In tonight's program,
patgreene will be playing the role of
mactavish.
(4) If you want me to try to balance the exchange groups so you don't get too many duplicate songs, post your playlist in the comments section here when you've finished it. I think the pool of available holiday music is small enough that some duplicates are inevitable, but I'll try to get things as nicely distributed as possible.
(5) Yay! Holiday music exchange!
