I had my emergency ultrasound at 9.5 weeks after the accident, so that was my first oh-ye-gods moment - but when we first heard the heartbeat at 11 weeks it was pretty amazing. Especially watching galagan's face, and hearing his reaction: "What is that? That's it? Is it supposed to be that fast?" Only a tad anticlimactic, but still that alien feeling - wait, you're putting an instrument on my body, and picking up somebody's else heartbeat???
