We used to say "Woe! Oh, woe!" to the Medium-sized Girl when she cried inconsolably as a baby (as we walked her around). It seemed to take the edge off, and it really did sound like that's what she was saying. "Oh, woe is me, a poor innocent baby, who will hear my cries?"
