I'm so happy to have a Christmas tree. I was being very practical about the difficulties, but in my heart I wanted one badly. This little guy's been sitting on the table since last Sunday, looking moderately festive but not more so than, say, your average pointsettia. I'm amazed at how well the lights and ornaments have transformed it. It doesn't look like a potted plant to me anymore - it looks exactly like a Christmas tree, only smaller.

Yay.

Difficulties? I know Paul was very curious about pulling things off the tree his first Christmas, but he wasn't mobile then. Kate (8 mos) just went mobile, so we'll see how it works this year.

*grin* Your tree is really cute!

We have our tree barricaded in a corner, protected by a baby gate, a futon, and a chair. You can only see about three feet of it sticking up in the back, unless you get really close, but at least the baby isn't munching on any ornaments or pine needles when I'm not looking!

Sammy's just learned to climb up onto the futon by herself, and she loves to stand up there looking at it.

Alex is mobile - crawling and pulling up. And she's very adventurous with the pulling up - she just pulled up on my jeans legs while I was standing up, and that's precious little loose fabric to use for purchase. She would definitely try to pull up on a tree.
