One of the counter-arguments I see to that - that formula is poison because of dirty water and therefore not in places where clean water is available - is that formula is sometimes (they usually say "always" or at least "often") being recalled for contamination (they usually say with plastic or ground glass). I have no recollection of seeing a link to a reputable news source for any of those claims though.
