I don't read them specifically - these were things I saw a long, long time ago, when I was still trying to breastfeed. Because you're right, it wasn't doing me any good.
But I found that it was hard to avoid these attitudes entirely and still seek out support for other aspects of my parenting, which fall kind of loosely under "attachment parenting." If I wanted to find a parenting community where I could get support for not leaving Alex to cry it out, using only gentle discipline, babywearing, etc., I pretty much had to be around serious breastfeeders.
