This was a very helpful comment for me as a white woman. I've never been very happy with per se analogies between racism and male chauvinism or anti-feminism. But remembering how livid and/or extemely frustrated I've gotten in discussions where men try to draw parallels between their experiences and mine ("men are sometimes victims of spousal abuse", "male circumcision ...", etc.) has really helped me "get" this discussion.
