At some point in what proved to be an extremely rough day for Alex, I offered her a choice between two things.

"Yes," she whimpered.

"Honey, that was an 'or' question," Michael said.

And without missing a beat, Alex snapped back, "That was a YES question."

We are in So. Much. Trouble.

Hee! That reminds me of my friend's daughter who, at three, was asked what color cat she would like, as a preliminary for getting her a kitten. "Pink," she replied. Concern was expressed that pink cats are exceptionally rare as to be un-findable and that perhaps she might choose a backup color. "So, if we can't find a pink cat, what type of cat would you like?" they asked her. "Two," she replied. Eek and hee.
