Cuteness report.

Alex perched her tiny behind on the bottom shelf of one of our bookcases this morning. Then she looked up at us. "You can sit here too!" She patted the shelf next to her.

"I'm too big," I told her.

"Papa, can you sit here?"

"I'm too big, too," Michael said.

"I will make you smaller." She scrambled to her feet, grabbed both Michael's hands, and pulled downward until he was crouched on the floor.

"Now can you sit here?"



Later on, I took her to nursery school and passed on a story guaranteed to win her teacher's heart.

"This morning, Alex said to me, 'I'm writing the names of people I love. Can you write Miss Carol for me?'"

Predictably, Miss Carol melted into a puddle of Alexphilia, picking her up and giving her a big hug.

What I didn't tell her was that I had picked the endpoint of the story carefully. Because the next words out of Alex's mouth had been, "...And can you write the name underpants? I really love underpants."

My Coral asked what made me laugh, and when I told her that a little girl loves underpants, she looked at me, and said duh-like, "well, yeah." She is currently in love with her Hello Kitty underpants, and very proud when she can keep them dry (she's 2 and half, by the way, just sounds like a teenager).

do you remember Anthony telling you that Alex's name wasn't alex? It was pumpkin? I was telling andy your story, and Anthony suddenly said "that is a story about Miz becca, mr michael and punkin!"

Btw, I asked him if he liked SUUSI and he said "YES! I got to eat ice cream."
