That's fascinating, and a side of the HIV picture I hadn't considered in detail. I'm especially intrigued by the findings about medical providers and transmission risk messages, because while it may not match standard suggested practice, it makes some sense to me. I know that when my doctor gives me a brief rundown about a potential consequence of health-related behaviors or practices, it sticks with me a lot longer than when she gives me strokes for positive behaviors or practices. I think "brief" may be the key - a long lecture about my smoking or weight, for instance, is likely to make me tune out, whereas a "did you know that -" remark makes me go, "Hm. Maybe I should think about that."

You do important work!

(Also: That icon? Slays me. And here I confess that for the first three or four months working with my current employer, I had *no* idea what PI stood for in the research world, and that's just about the image I got in my head whenever the term came up.)
