Way back when... People thought you could get cancer by touching somebody with it. They were afraid to breath the air they breathed. It took years for people to believe this wasn't true.
Sadly, some people with cancer still run into people who don't want to touch them, or who serve them with disposable dishware. Probably fewer than with HIV, though.
