Colin finally smiled for the camera. Isn't he beautiful?

alex&colin

Alex is a little small to hold Colin, but she does like to give it a try. And they're beautiful together.

This is pure Alex: she told us one evening that she was making Disneyworld for her toys, and when we went into the living room we found this. ([livejournal.com profile] acceberskoorb, doesn't this look like your vacation pictures?)

My mother sent pictures from her visit when Colin was 2 weeks old, and I am impressed by the changes a month makes. Here he is having a bath, then and today:

Great pictures. I love the line of animals.

That first picture of Colin is one to show him on his 16th birthday.

Can't. Stop. Laughing...

Those poor animals are never going to get to the front of that line!

Yep, what she just said. I love it that she included the long line to get in!

Colin looks almost toothy there - and has crocodile clothes! My children will be jealous.

Also, I don't think his smile is like Alex's, but I could be misremembering. I find sibling dissimilarities delightful and fascinating.

Oh, he is.

I think he has more chin than Alex did at that age, but he is so her brother.

Oh, he's adorable, and Alex is adorable with him. The Disneyworld pic is priceless.

I knoooooow.

I was wondering about that Disneyland lineup; do you think the animals are waiting to go on some wild bouncy-chair ride after Colin has his turn, or do you think Colin is the attraction they're lining up to see?

They were definitely lining up to go on the bouncy chair ride, because that's a doll in the seat. (You can tell it's not Colin because that baby sat happily in the bouncer while I finished my dinner, a thing Colin would never, ever do.)

Oh, right, I saw that afterwards.

I was going to link you to the picture of my not-so-little one in her first pair of reading glasses - but I think she's got it friends-only.

My father-in-law, who was in town for Beka's birth, is coming back this weekend. I'll be fascinated to see what he notices as differences -- I've been too immersed in it all to notice anything but the most obvious.

My mother had a whole collection of baby pictures (diaper changes; taking a bath with friends at about 2 yrs old; etc) specially set aside in a manila envelope that she brought out when I first started bringing home friends-who-might-be-boyfriends.

She said if they don't run screaming, they might be keepers.
