Actually, if one of my children were ever to become a social outcast at school, I would homeschool them in a second if they wanted me to. And I would opt for homeschooling for positive reasons - I love learning, I love sharing my love of learning, and I love enabling other people to learn. (Because, you know, there's always moving to be near another school etc.) Also, rivka would do a good job - she actually CAN homeschool. I'm dubious about whether I could, because I probably wouldn't be too good at discipline and routine.
