Update.

I'm not going to self-label my posts as "testy" or "bitchy" anymore.

Obviously I am only an egg.

Updated to add: Also, apparently, I have much to learn about how to respond to criticism.

Well, she's someone who isn't going to get a note saying "sorry you weren't happy in that community, would you like to join this small one I created?"

She needs a good swift kick in the ass. I was too tired to administer it.
Honestly, she deserved the Golden Stapler Award for Dramatic Exits (the Golden Stapler denoting a post in which it would be easier for the poster to keep the back of his or her hand against his or her forehead were a couple of staples administered - thunk, thunk). I need to make an icon, I think.

My response, the one I didn't post, was, "Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out." Yeesh.

Of course, we should all recognize that she is the center of the universe, so whatever she observes to be true must be, and any conclusion she wants to state as being generally true of course is. Any other observations are just picking on her. We're all just a bunch of big meanies.

I've been tempted to post on the "goodbye" thread, but I'm resisting. It would be pointless. No need to give her any more attention than she's already getting.

If it's the same lady babalon, and how many of them could there be (I don't know if I want an answer to that question. . . ), she couldn't hack it on soc.subculture.bondage-bdsm, either.

There are just some people who need to stay off of newsgroups and public forums. Sadly, they don't often have a clue that they should. And the make the rest of us miserable that way.

I don't think you said anything particularly evil.

Oh! Yeah, I remember her. That does put another complexion on things.

just let me know when you need the brain back, m'kay?

Will do :):).

Good grief

For someone who's been ::sob:: driven from the community, she sure does comment a lot.

I was amused, when I went to the other thread she cited, to see that you were the other person who was upsetting her so dreadfully.

It's always nice to be in such good company.

Oh, come on Kathy. Tell us what you really think.

Oh, I don't know, Bill. I'm awfully shy ;-).

[identity profile] roadnotes.livejournal.com 2002-10-11 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow.

I feel like such a calm and reasonable person tonight.

Three-way brain share?

[identity profile] elisem.livejournal.com 2002-10-11 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, me too. Although I didn't post it. (I didn't feel... that I had been participatory enough to presume to say it, and besides, the way I would have said it was in WELL-ese: "Door. Ass. Bang.")

[identity profile] elisem.livejournal.com 2002-10-11 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
No, very different person. (And if the bdsm Babalon said that, I'd happily discuss it with her... but then, I know her.)

She tempts me to get my LISP flamewar-generator out of mothballs and load up her pet phrases....

Heh. Less lady-like behavior it would be difficult to imagine.

I'm with you. It was overgeneralized. And I'm also glad I missed omnifarious's comment until I'd calmed down. Gah.

Anybody who has, at the core of their argument, the phrase "if it's true, it's true," deserves to be verbally spanked until they flee.

I like a person who learns[1] from mistakes[2].

She needs to learn that "generalization" does not mean "It's okay to say this, whatever it is".
