We got our Christmas tree today. [livejournal.com profile] wcg found the perfect one: an impossibly full Douglas fir, about six feet tall, without any bare spots. It's so full, in fact, that we're low on lights. Tomorrow [livejournal.com profile] curiousangel and I will need to buy another couple of strings... and figure out how to wind them on safely with all of the ornaments in place.

This picture doesn't do it justice. You'll have to either come over and see for yourself, or just take my word that it's the loveliest Christmas tree ever.

Wow!!

It looks just like Charlie Brown's (after his friends helped, I mean).

It looks great! It must be exceptionally impressive in person. :-)

We bought ours last Monday--and it's been sitting in the garage since then because with one thing or another, we simply haven't had time yet to put it up, let alone decorate it.

That's a pretty one... full, beautiful shape.

What a bushy full tree!

We don't decorate until after P's birthday, and we don't buy a tree until quite late so that it lasts until Twelfth Night. But I can't wait ....

Looks like the kind of tree my family always had as a kid. ... And those ornaments like like the ornaments on our tree. ... Hey!

Ooooh, pretty tree!

We pretty much gave up on having live trees after a couple of years of picking needles out of the carpet in July, in rooms nowhere near the tree (the cat seems to scatter pine needles like bees spread pollen), and having the cat intent on scaling Mount Evergreen when we weren't looking. :-/

My father-in-law gave us the ornaments from [livejournal.com profile] curiousangel's childhood trees. I was amazed to find the exact same set of painted-at-home wooden ornaments I had on my childhood trees. It's entirely possible that you had them too. The only one you can really see clearly in the photo is the snowman right at the front.

Alternatively, maybe you should call your mother and make sure that no one's broken in to your family's attic.

Heh. Only because I wanted to be on Sam's friends list!

Very snazzy (now that I can see it -- all I could get over the weekend was a little rectangle that said "image"). And [livejournal.com profile] wandra is right; your joyfulness is infectious.
