Eeek!

Thanks to the powerful guidance of [livejournal.com profile] wcg, I have achieved a sushi sundress. This is my first real sewing project - I did some scut work on the ball dress Bill made me last spring, but for this one I did most of the sewing myself. Yay! It's a sushi sundress! Now I have everything I need to be happy.

Goodness. That's a lot of sushi.

(Ha...I watched your process fixing that image. Glad to see it work now.)

What a lovely dress! (And a lovely person in it. :)

That is so adorable!

That dress is adorable! Great job...

BTW, where did you find the fabric? I have a friend (who introduced me to eating sushi) that would absolutely love some of that fabric...

I don't actually remember where I ordered it. A number of options come up when you enter "sushi print fabric" into a Google search.

Woohoo!

But what would it taste like? And how much wasabi did you use in making it?

[identity profile] claire.livejournal.com 2003-03-08 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! What a cute dress!

[identity profile] bcholmes.livejournal.com 2003-03-08 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)

Don't you need a wasabi hat and pickled ginger earrings to go with it?

[identity profile] trinker.livejournal.com 2003-03-08 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, dear. I have started plotting how to make the latter out of polymer clay.

[identity profile] fourgates.livejournal.com 2003-03-08 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
That looks like enough for several people, if we all share nicely. :-)

[identity profile] mittelbar.livejournal.com 2003-03-08 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Is there any other way to share?

[identity profile] rivka.livejournal.com 2003-03-09 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Sheesh! You could at least have said something about the dress.

[identity profile] patgreene.livejournal.com 2003-03-08 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
What a cute dress! yay you!

[identity profile] wandra.livejournal.com 2003-03-09 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Yay for you! It looks great.

Maybe this will inspire me to get started on a couple of things I've been thinking of attempting.... :-)

Lovely. Further support for my belief that sushi looks almost good enough to eat.

Good job!

Now I have everything I need to be happy.

A happy Rivka is a beautiful sight.

That is very, very cool.

[identity profile] the-ogre.livejournal.com 2003-03-09 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
It's also very, very strange, but well...

Re: That is very, very cool.

[identity profile] rivka.livejournal.com 2003-03-09 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Aren't most very, very, cool things strange?

(And thanks!)

[identity profile] johnpalmer.livejournal.com 2003-03-10 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Beautiful...

Oh, and that's a nice dress, too.

[identity profile] diony.livejournal.com 2003-03-10 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow! Sushi! I am envious.

I hope we'll get to see this dress in person at Minicon this year. Ghoddess knows with as much cold weather we've been having a sundress will cause the planets orbit to shift or something else weird. Right now it's flurrying and 15ºf.

Alas, Michael (my husband) is out of work right now, and we're trying to be careful with our money. That means no Minicon. I'll miss everyone.

Pinching pennies right now is the national sport I think. I know I have to budget and stick to it, to make it through the month. BTW I was thinking of you while reading a article on HepC and the help in treatment that AIDS research has given to the medical comunnity in fighting viral infections. It's nice to know front line workers and the reports they give not filtered by Big Media.

PS it just got finished dumping more snow tonight, sure you don't want some more? *eg*
