I went to Pilates this morning and promptly pulled a muscle. I'm not sure if it's a hip flexor or one of my abdominal muscles - the place that hurts is just inside my left hipbone, where it joins my lower abdomen. Ow. I tried to finish the class, but because Pilates focuses on the core trunk muscles, every exercise seemed to involve my pulled muscle. So I went on home and crawled back into bed and into curiousangel's toasty warm embrace. It's still cold here at 6:45 in the morning, even on days when the temperature is eventally expected to top 50.

Then this morning I had the make-up session for the HIPPA training I missed. *sigh* You know that a training is going to be a waste of your time when you get 90% on the pre-test. Fortunately, I had the Bookworm game loaded on my Palm Pilot, and after I had asked a few thoughtful questions as protective cover I pretty much focused on trying to beat my high score. I'm not really very good at the game, but I find it hypnotically fascinating.

My sister Debbie is coming to visit this weekend. I have no idea what we're going to do - whether she'll have the energy to see much of Baltimore, for example, or whether we'll just wind up hanging out at the apartment and talking. She works awfully hard, and sometimes when she visits people she needs to spend most of her time resting.

When I visited you last, just hanging about in your place and talking was wonderfully fun and relaxing. I also adored the Brazilian steakhouse we had dinner at, but the best part was the company and you two provide a lovely welcoming atmosphere.

Yeah, and the class is in a cold room. But also, some of the things that aren't supposed to be that difficult turn out to be difficult for me, and that means that I'm sometimes working vigorously sooner than the teacher meant me to be.

I am familiar with that muscle, and it's not a flexor. It's related to the muscles you use when you do oblique crunches. I'd recommend gentle massage by a close friend, one who knows exactly where you're ticklish and who will conscientiously avoid those spots.
