Saw my primary care doctor. She tells me not to think of myself as having asthma, because we don't have any idea whether my symptoms are going to be chronic. She's calling it Reactive Airway Disease, which is apparently a catchall term for a number of conditions, including asthma, which involve inflammation of the airway. She says it could be a reaction to pollen, or it could be viral or bacterial - it could even be RSV, although usually that's something infants get.

She gave me another nebulizer treatment, which - once again - helped a lot. She also gave me a prescription for an albuterol inhaler and a prescription for antibiotics, and told me to rest and drink plenty of fluids. I'm supposed to use the inhaler for two weeks, and then come back to see her if I still have symptoms.

I feel a lot better - in part because of the breathing treatment, and in part because I have confidence that my doctor knows what she's doing.
