You'd think that I would have had enough of being sick.

I'm sure I'm past it now - it was obviously something to do with what I ate for lunch - but I spent the afternoon desperately unhappily and now I feel all faded and washed out. I was supposed to be packing. I was supposed to be working on my dissertation.

At least, while I was writhing in pain on the couch, I got to see Rocket denied again. Damn, but Kerry Wood can pitch.

So, you know, there are consolations.

My favorite moment: bases loaded, two outs, the Yankees down by two. The huge, steroid-laden slugger, menacing, comes up to bat in the person of Jason Giambi. The pitcher stares him down. Strike one is called, followed by strike two. A pitch high and inside is a ball. One low and inside is a ball. The third one misses somewhere in the middle. Full count. Casey, uh, I mean, Giambi, is finally ready to swing the bat. And he whiffs. Big time. He looks bad. It was great. It was like "Casey at the Bat" but from the opposite perspective!

*grin* Yeah, that was beautiful. I can see that you are an extremely perceptive person. Welcome to my journal!

I hope you feel better soon. If I find the desk that's giving out the coupons that say "I don't have to get sick now, because I already got some," I will grab some to forward to you.

Oh sweetheart... I'm sorry you got sick again.

I'm back from a very rainy day out with the Romans. But aside from being a little damp, I'm OK. Hope you're feeling better by the time you read this.

You have to wave the Clemens thing in front of me?

I know we've agreed to disagree on baseball, beyond of course the whole Red Sox thing, but gloating? Why I thought better of you, dear. ;)

At least we get Yankees games down here sometimes.

I've got bananas waiting to be turned into bread-shall I send another loaf your way if I can?

It's not just that Roger Clemens is a Yankee - I have a personal dislike for him. Among other things, he needs a better hobby than hitting people with pitches.

Okay...that I can agree with.

Even as a Yankee fan.

I was out traveling a lot today and didn't get to see the game, but if you think Kerry Wood can pitch watch Mark Prior tomorrow night on the ESPN game of the week. Prior is better than Wood; he's as smooth as Jim Palmer in his prime.
