Update on Michael's father.

We're leaving in the morning for Memphis. curiousangel's father is having bypass surgery at 8:00am. Originally, I'd been thinking that only Michael would go - but the more we thought about it, the more we realized that he'd really want me with him, and I wouldn't want to wait home alone.

Our airline was not helpful. The "bereavement fare" to Memphis would've been $700 per person, although they were magnaminously planning to let us deduct the price of the tickets we'd already bought for later in the week. Fortunately, brian1789 was able to work Frequent Flyer magic, for which I am so profusely grateful I don't even know what to do. He got us tickets to leave tomorrow morning and return next Friday.

We've got to be at the light rail stop at 4:40 tomorrow morning, so I need to log off and go pack. Thank you all for your support, and please continue to keep us all in your thoughts.
