I think I'm coming down with the vicious cold
curiousangel picked up from my seven-year-old niece. Current symptoms: exhaustion all day although I did precious little, muscle aches, beginnings of a cough and scratchy throat, exhaustion, headache, chills, more exhaustion, profound dislike of self, inertia.
Bleah.
Bleah.

Date: 2003-12-30 11:32 pm (UTC)It has *very* good research behind it (reduces cold duration by 75 percent when taken at onset of symptoms). I'm in my second winter of using the stuff and I haven't had a full-blown cold yet; the one I did have was very brief and minor.

Date: 2004-01-02 09:59 am (UTC)It's just zinc in a tolerable form that gets soaked into the mucous membranes. The way I heard it, scientists had known that getting zinc into those areas would help a cold for a long time, but until the recent advent of non-horrible zinc lozenges (and now, Zicam and such), no one had been able to find way to get zinc there that people didn't find ghastly enough that it was just easier to suffer through the cold.
