Me too. I found particularly disheartening the people who they interviewed who weren't voting for him because he wasn't "electable." Of course he isn't if you don't vote for him! Ninnies. *sigh* I was really excited about a candidate for the first time in a long time.

At this point, I think they're all fine, and no one is disastrous. We just need to make sure we get Bush out of that freakin' White House.

Some of us actually like Howard Dean, and think Kucinich would make a terrible president.

I try to think that Kerry supporters genuinely think he's the best man for the job. I'd like Kucinich supporters to extend the same courtesy to me, but most of them seem to be convinced that I'm just lying to myself.

My message came across as more vitriolic than I intended. I know you truly support Dean, and I honestly thought he was an excellent candidate as well. I meant no offense at all.

I was just pointing out that Kucinich has been battling the "non-electable" thing, and now, oddly enough, Dean faced it, too. Whooda thunk?

I think it's also important to note that an "electable" Democratic candidate has to be able to obtain votes from all quarters, including *gasp* some Republicans.

Wasn't a Dean supporter (was in the Clark camp) but
glad he did run, he brought some energy to what I feared
was going to be a walk of an election by Herr W.

I actually have some hope of getting him (Dubya) out of there.

Me too. I had really hoped he had more of a shot. I wish things were less concentrated in time so that candidates had more time to make their pitch. As it is, one stumble out of the gate and you're out of there.

I liked him. Adam actually went to a political rally for the first time over him (I'd have gone too if the logistics hadn't been impossible). We were both considering working for him, but didn't jump soon enough.

We'll vote for Kerry, or whomever else wins the nomination, but we're not excited about any of the others like we were about Dean.

Dean didn't actually excite me much. I'm not greatly excited about any of them, to be honest, but I'd vote for a turnip if it would get the Shrub out of the White House.

I think it's clear from the results of the primaries/caucuses so far that Dean didn't excite enough people.

It might have been a mistake dropping out before Super Tuesday, but I don't think it would have changed much in the long run.

Aww :( That is a real shame. Dean is the only political figure in recent memory that was capable of inspiring this kind of confidence and enthusiasm - I know you're not the only one out there whose disappointed.

I was never a huge or vocal Dean supporter, but I did think he said some things that needed to be said, and he showed anger, which I think was cathartic for a lot of people. Incredibly, he's a politician who I actually hope stays in politics!
