So *that's* why I don't feel better.
Oct. 16th, 2001 05:47 pmJust walked in the door to the sound of the phone. The rapid strep test I had last Friday might have been negative, but the regular strep test is positive. They've called in a prescription for amoxicillin, which I'll go pick up in a few minutes.
I knew I wasn't still supposed to be feeling sick seven days later. Now all it will take is a couple of doses of antibiotics, and I'll feel fine. Yay! Bacterial infections are so much better than the alternative.
Maybe I should've gone to the doctor earlier than Friday, but it really had all the hallmarks of a virus. Maybe they should've gotten my strep results back to me yesterday, though, hm? I would already be feeling better, and I wouldn't have gone to the clinic in a probably-infectious condition today.
I hope no one else gets sick. Probably not, because I was being careful not to pass on whatever I might have.
Mmmmmmmm, antibiotics.

Date: 2001-10-16 05:38 pm (UTC)I do bring it up when people seem not to be considering it. I'm also grateful my partners are both thoughtful about things like that.
(Though, amusingly enough, both the fiance and I turned out to have been exposed to chicken pox multiple times and never got it. We've both got funky immune systems...)
