Nov. 2nd, 2001 10:06 pmI rode the MARC train to work on Thursday. It was the day after Halloween, so they had a little bowl of lollipops by the cash register. I took one with red printing on the wrapper, because I usually like cherry and strawberry flavors the best.
This evening I found the lollipop in my jacket pocket and unwrapped it. The actual lollipop was yellow, not red, so I figured it must be lemon or something.
It was not.
Buttered popcorn flavor.

I want to amputate my tongue.

I wonder when they will come out with nacho cheese flavored candy.

Be warned...
Date: 2001-11-02 11:25 pm (UTC)Don't be too worried, though... there are buttered popcorn flavored Jelly Belly jelly beans. White, with light yellow patches. But I only ever buy them as a kind of joke..."Try this... tastes more like popcorn than most popcorns." (It actually tastes like ... well... like distilled essence of movie theater popcorn poured into a jelly bean. Which, of course, is probably what it is.

Date: 2001-11-03 06:52 am (UTC)The lollipop was worse. Ohhhhh was it worse. When you suck on a lollipop the flavor becomes liquid and coats your entire mouth. It was like licking the artificial butter flavor off the bottom of a popcorn vat two weeks after they had turned the machine off and abandoned it without cleaning it. Only stronger.
Fortunately, and thanks to Bill, I had a box of strongly flavored mints in my purse.
