I'd actually suggest getting dress shirts that fit curiousangel and wear those in leiu of maternity clothes, if possible. They're not horribly foofy and he could have them when you're done with them :)
Heh. curiousangel and I are fairly close to the same height and weight. His dress shirts didn't button over my chest very well even before I got pregnant.
They are designed that way, and my theory is that it's so you are identifiably pregnant, instead of just possibly pudgy. It eliminates awkwardness for others.
Screw 'em.

Rivka, even I, with my newly flat tummy and distinctly male body, would look pregnant in maternity clothes. They're designed to say "I'm PREGNANT!!!" to the world.
