[livejournal.com profile] therealjae - and anyone else who has a thing for political campaign slash - you must see this right-wing-produced slideshow/movie about John Kerry and John Edwards. It starts out with the ominous music and the anti-gay scare speech, but then bursts out into a lighthearted celebration of HoYay.

Seriously. Don't miss it.

Isn't that just the goofiest thing? I watched it after Mary MacT linked to it, and I kept wondering whether it was supposed to be serious or not.

I have a *thing* for political campaign slash??? Um, not besides finding it utterly hilarious in a "wash your mouth out with soap" sort of way. Which that piece is, though. *snerk*

Oh, and speaking of "wash your mouth out with soap" stuff, have you seen this (http://64.21.33.116/sims/bushkerry/)??? EEK!

Okay, I knew the *real* political slash folks would have a response to this, and it took me a while to hunt it down, but I was not wrong (http://www.livejournal.com/community/johnxjohn/269843.html).

I am most thoroughly amused.

"You have a thing for it," not as in, "it gets you hot," but as in, "you tend to find it and point it out." Defensive, defensive!

That scared me! I might have nightmares about the right-wing tonight.

What is HoYay, please?

(And yes, I watched the movie -- I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.)

It's short for "homoeroticism, yay!" It's mostly used in contexts where whatever it is you're talking about wasn't supposed to be homoerotic. Not entirely sure where it comes from.

As far as I know, HoYay comes from the Television Without Pity boards, but it could have been in use on the net before it got widspread use there.

The eye-twinkle kept reminding me of Davy Jones in the Monkees...

Wow. And even more amazing, it's not satire.

That's...surreal.

One *really* has to wonder what's *really* going on in the brains of the folks who spend that much loving time over pasting together the images.

I think we should all link to it often and eat up their bandwidth. Or something.

Takes no time at all. [plug] The Sims 2 makes it really easy to make slideshows and movies and distribute them on the net. [/plug]

On the other side, turning a relationship into a romantic one is an action that does need to be initiated by the player, so the author's claim that the AI made the slash is disingenuous. GWB starting a fire from making toaster pastries and then not calling the fire department, though, is utterly plausible.

(The top-level link wasn't the Sims one, though.)

You know, show that to the right audience and somehow I think it will actually bring more people into the Kerry/Edwards camp than the other way around!

Loved the eye/teeth sparkles - very "The Great Race"!
