Ultrasound report!!
Oct. 25th, 2004 07:20 pmShe's perfect. She's just perfect.
I was blown away by the ultrasound. I had no idea that we would be able to see so much, for so long. Her little hands and feet. Her tiny, full bladder. All four chambers of her itsy-bitsy heart, pumping away. Her somersaults and rolls. Each individual bone in each arm and leg. We saw everything.
Our ultrasound tech was phenomenal. She narrated everything, pointed out all the details, moved the wand around and around so that we could get the best possible views. When she was taking measurements, she explained to us what "normal" was and what our baby's readings were. She kept complimenting our baby, which is understandable, because the Li'l Critter is the most gorgeous thing ever in the whole world.
All her joints in her arms and legs move. Her stomach appears to be properly made and working. She has a brain. She weighs eight ounces. On the maternal side of things: my cervix is "beautiful," long and closed. There's plenty of amniotic fluid, but not too much. The placenta is exactly where it should be. The outside of the uterus looks fine. All systems are go.
It was the most unbelievably wonderful experience. I cannot begin to tell you.
It was also our first look at the hospital where we're going to deliver. My first impressions were good: extremely friendly and helpful staff, and the facilities were clean, quiet, and attractive. The ultrasound tech told us that they schedule her so she has plenty of time to talk with each patient without hurrying, which is an excellent sign. And she had nice things to say about the labor and delivery suites and the quality of the NICU. So far, I'm pleased.
Plus, I saw our baby!!! She's the best baby ever.
(Special note to
minnaleigh: There Is Only One Baby. Not four. One.)

Many congratulations on your beautiful baby girl. May she only increase in perfection and beauty as she grows.
