Nope nope nope.
Dec. 5th, 2001 07:59 amI am not getting a cold.
No, really, I'm really not. It's out of the question. It's not going to happen. Nope nope nope. Pay no attention to the runny nose and the waking-up-with-a-sore-throat. I can't be getting a cold - it's inconceivable.
Here's my evidence:
1. I was just sick in October, with a horrible strep infection that made me miss three days of work. I was miserably sick for two weeks. There's no way it could possibly be my turn again so soon.
2. I had a horrible cold at Christmastime last year. It can't possibly be fair for me to be sick at Christmas two years in a row.
3. I'm just too busy to have a cold. Colds sap your strength.
There, isn't that convincing?

Date: 2001-12-05 08:39 am (UTC)This plan has helped before. During the cold and flu season of 1999-2000 I was flying all over the country doing internship interviews - so you've got to figure on high stress levels plus breathing other people's recycled air. Oh, and exhaustion. I took 2000mg of Vitamin C per day, and although I often felt that "beginning of a cold" feeling, I never actually got sick.

Zinc.
Date: 2001-12-05 10:13 pm (UTC)I'm not getting sick either. Nope, not me.
I managed to remain cold and infection free all summer during chemo, etc. But I'm going back to work now, which means commuting, which means meeting every damn bug in Chicago *and* being tired. :-/
*blows nose* But I am not getting sick, either.
