Jul. 20th, 2005 10:41 pmI sent e-mail to my research assistants this morning explaining that I wouldn't be in on Thursday. I concluded with, "As always, feel free to call or e-mail if you need me when I am working at home." So I thought that maybe one of them would call me with a question about data, or something.
I did not expect to get a breathless call at lunchtime.
"Rebecca? This is Greta. I finished Harry Potter and I just had to call you right away."

Date: 2005-07-21 04:34 am (UTC)I eavesdropped on a conversation yesterday among my camp charges, since I suspected they might be giving one guy heck about something to do with the business project they're supposed to be collaborating on (and I'm supposed to be mentoring). They were all firm and even vehement with him "No, we don't want to talk about that any more, we told you that." It turned out that he had finished Harry Potter first, and was trying to tell them how he had deduced the plot twists without, quite, telling the plot twists. That was much more serious than being over-focused on the business project, apparently.
