rivkaYes, the studio apartment in the basement of our house is a separate unit. Yes, technically that means that our landlords don't need to notify us that they're having work done on the place.
But it still seems to me that it would have been courteous for them to mention that a bunch of guys with jackhammers were going to be spending the day tearing up the backyard and foundation of the house that contains our NAP-NEEDING BABY.
