I went to look, and got sidetracked by your Rocky Mountain National Park photos. Rainbow Curve! Fall River Pass! The Mummy Range! I wanna cry.

People keep trying to tell me the lumps in the ground back East are mountains. Well, maybe they were once, but now they're foothills. Lovely photos.

Now the con photos. Man, she grew between those sets, didn't she? Wotta sweetie.

The East has a lot of FORMER mountains. (Most) Easterners do not understand this.

I am from Montana and spent 4 years in college in Massachusetts trying to explain this to everyone. Nobody got it.

Yep. I lived a mile or so from the foothills in northern Colorado for about 20 years, and have been living elsewhere for the last 25 years, most recently in Virginia. Three months back, we moved to western Massachusetts, which is pleasantly hilly, often with a horizon which is pleasantly unflat (though I liked having a choice of horizons in Colorado).

I think I'll just adopt a John Cleese tone and say, "Look, mate, this is an EX-mountain!" next time it comes up. The subject, I mean.

Oh, thanks for reminding me - I need to upload the rest of them.

There's a reason why my parents have been going to Rocky Mountain National Park for more than 40 years now.
