Last night was not as bad as it could have been. She did wake up a lot, and it was a struggle to get her back to sleep because she just felt so miserable, but she did sleep for two 3 or 3.5-hour stretches. That's enough to keep me functional.

Diarrhea continues, but at a slightly less ferocious pace. The color has turned the bright green of grass clippings, which I didn't even know was possible, but which has Alex's doctor completely unconcerned. He says that it's going around, that we're lucky not to have the version that includes projectile vomiting, that the only thing to cure it is fluids and more fluids, and that we can try giving her half-strength formula (dliuted with unflavored Pedialyte). Alex will be relieved to get her formula back, I think, although she has been continuing to drink the apple-flavored stuff fairly well. If diluted formula makes her vomit, it's back to straight Pedialyte for another day. We're supposed to call him back if we see any blood or if she's still sick on Wednesday.

Poor baby is still pretty subdued and fussy. She did perk up at the doctor's office, with all the staff people to smile at and the paper to rip, but then she crashed as soon as we got in the car. She slept all the way to pick up Papa, through the drugstore stop for more Pedialyte, through the drive-through stop for lunch, through Mama stopping at home to change into work clothes, and through the drive to my office. Poor Michael may wind up sitting in the car reading for a while if she's still asleep when he gets home.

Her development is proceeding apace, despite her illness and lethargy. She's pulled up to stand three times today, and she picked a tiny twig off the floor with a perfect thumb-and-forefinger pincer grip.

Poor little mite. I'm glad she's getting better.

I hope you're all three able to get some rest tonight. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. I do teach tonight, but not tomorrow or Wednesday.

Yeah, projectile vomiting is about a 9.1 on the Fun Meter. My Megan would stand in her crib, fuss and wait until one of us got to her then unload. Poor baby. Well, she's 25 now, but that's something you just don't forget :).

Hang in there.
