I now have an additional 32 icons to play with, thanks to LJ's new "paid user loyalty program." Someone else's icon in [livejournal.com profile] dot_poly_snark prompted me to make this one, but I have no idea what to do the rest of them. Suggestions?

You could get other people to make some for you based on your livejournal interests--I did that once and got some of my coolest icons that way.

More Alex icons! Or otters. Or both. Although Alex with an otter might break the cuteness barrier and bring doom upon us all.

Perhaps one for books or reading?

I now have room for 132 icons and I only use 15 so I am in the same boat!

I forget how many I have room for, but it's lots, and I only use two.

I don't really feel the need for more than one.

If you have a favorite book, you can make quotation icons. Mine are from Lord of the Rings.

Alex, otters, penguins, suchlike.

I'm sure you'll think of other things.

I tired to come up with a more "lifelike-as-I-look-these-days icon, but the dang thing wouldn't "take" when I tried loading it into my LJ account. Oh well, I'll try again. (Just imagine my current icon, but with a dark beard & bald-headed.)

I've created a few icons in the past few days - and then they went and increased the number! (I still have something like 23 spaces left.)

I was noticing that I tend to want icons for topics, like music or mountains or Jane Austen (those are my latest 3) - but a lot of people seem to have icons for various moods. My icon-skills are extremely limited though, so I've stayed pretty basic.
