...that once you start making userpics, it's hard to stop.

The trouble, of course, will be choosing between them. For those of you with dozens of userpics, do you find that it takes longer to select the perfect icon for the moment than it does to actually comment or post?

And one final picture, not an icon:

new_shoes

My sensible nature completely breaks down when it comes to buying Alex shoes. There's just no earthly reason for shoes to be this cute. None.

Those are perfectly sensible. :)

I spend half my time at work wishing one or another pair of kids' shoes came in size 10 for adult women. Specifically, I want the light-up heels.

I want the ones with the rollerskates on the heels.

I've seen the lights on kids shoes for years now, and they still make me smile when I see them blinking.

those are great shoes! they're robeez, or something robeez-like? we loved those shoes for bob. she had a collection of them.

They are Robeez, yes. The challenge was buying just one pair. ;-)

i know exactly what you mean. but hey, maybe you don't have to buy any more, for at least a year (http://www.robeez.com/contest.aspx?source=homepage&lang=EN-US).

once [livejournal.com profile] erbie has bob's little sibling, we'll be back in the world of robeez. so maybe we should enter the contest too!

We loooooooove Robeez. MUCH better than Daisy Roots, IMO. And it took Linnea ges to work out how to get them off.

Robeez were great and we were able to keep her (there is only one her, apparently, of course I mean Linnea) in them until she started walking outdoors. I don't trust them against syringes and broken glass on the pavements, and I don't trust my nice area not to have those things.

We had some with trains on, and a friend had geckos.

I've got a bunch of topics that have standard icons--this is the one I use to talk about tattoos, as well as the current default. I also have icons for travel, relationships, food, exercise, birding, and feminism--which between them is probably a majority of what I post.

Well, I grabbed the bay bridges image just because I liked it (it's a photo by [livejournal.com profile] sbisson, used with permission) and then concluded that it was a good "relationships" icon.

Half the time I forget to change the icon anyway. And I don't like to change it *too* much because it is a handy visual identifier.

But yes, I spent the time this afternoon when I really wanted a nap and couldn't have one making icons, such as this one. Great cat-vacuuming.

Good to hear it's got appeal for people who don't know the source fandom. I think it's the most adorable thing ever, as well as having useful "sheepish" connotations, but I am irrational about _Saiyuki_ (AYKB, a manga) and Minekura's art.

I am so down with the Robeez love.

I forced myself to stick to one pair per size.

It was hard.

I especially loved the blue fisherman's sandal style he wore last summer.

Mmmmmm....Robeez...

I LOVE Robeez! We had several pairs for Bob and I can't wait to get more for the new one. I know it says they can be machine washed and dried, but I wouldn't recommend it. Ours were never the same after that. We did hand wash and air dry them successfully though.

We had lavendar ones with little white flowers, Canadian flags, Dinosaurs, dragonflies, kitties, and cherries. After about 2.5, she destroyed them so fast it wasn't worth the money. We've just started getting her Converse All-Stars and she loves them, and so far they're holding up well.

I like our Moss Feet Shoes better than our Robeez, as they feel more pliable and comfortable, and have more wiggle room in the toebox. I also like supporting a WAHM business.

But the Robeez cuteness factor is hard to beat. And I've heard rumors of a factory outlet less than an hour away from me.

Bobux are also super cute, and are made of leather tanned through an environmentally-friendly process.

I'm such a sucker for cute baby things now.

I usually know exactly which one I want. I agree that they are very addictive, too, both making them and collecting cool ones from other people. (I have 67 icons at the moment, unless it's 68). I'm still getting the hang of making them, but it is very fun. I think I need better software - maybe my Mac has better software! ;)

Yes. And deciding which icon should be my default (I like to change it every few months) takes forever too.

But oh, I love icons.

Oh dear. It's SO not fair that they don't make those for adults, but I think they should be a user icon. They invoke a strong emotion of being amused by someone elses crabbiness.

I ordered them online, but some U.S. department stores carry them. They're very popular here.

I love the icons. And I LOVE Robeez. Thankfully, we got 3 pairs hand-me-down, because they're just a tad on the pricey side. The crabs though... Now that we live in MD I feel almost obligated.

Save a couple. My daughter's 15, and I still have one pink jelly toddler shoe and one purple bootee. They make me sad and happy whenever they float to the top of the underwear drawer.

(I don't have any of my son's shoes. Being the second child sucks.)
