In the middle of a House episode, I tripped harder than usual on a medical idiocy.

"Why would you [commit a medical idiocy]?" I yelled at the screen.

"Rivka," Michael said patiently, "...you're asking a medical question of Bertie Wooster."

Hee hee! I do that too, except with movies with archaeology in them. My husb& thinks it's hilarious when I shout, in a crowded movie theatre, "Ha! That's not twelfth dynasty!!!" :)

And Hugh Laurie, no matter what he's in, always makes me think of that Prince George line in Blackadder 3, when Blackadder tells him that he will be back before the Prince can say "antidisestablishmentarianism"...

It's very difficult to take House seriously, isn't it?

I just wait for the scenes where the doctors are forced to perform (yet another) emergency tracheotomy. Now, I know nothing about medical procedure, but surely they've done more tracheotomies than the average hospital.

Wait, wait-- there are people who watch 'House' for the medicine? Er, why would they do that? I just watch it for the one-liners and the recurring ravishment fantasies...

Damn, LJ ate my post, but I was going to recommend Polite Dissent's medical reviews of each episode. Apparently some doctors do get patients who watch too much House and expect similar treatment (not the rudeness, but "are you sure it isn't <rare condition>?") so he tries to debunk the medical mistakes in House and other fiction.

Oh yah, I do that too - and about paleontology; I'm insufferable during dinosaur movies. :P But I don't know enough about medicine or medical procedure to make House unwatchable, and that's perfectly cool with me, since I happen to think Dr. House is t3h hawt. ;)
