An open letter:

Dear cast and crew of The Wire:

It's my understanding that you have created a masterpiece of a television show which displays the gritty, heartbreaking Baltimore drug underworld with breathtaking realism. Congratulations.

However: when you are filming on my block, and you have a 6am call, and you look around yourselves and notice that you are in a residential neighborhood, would you PLEASE KEEP YOUR FUCKING VOICES DOWN?

Thank you.

I should've taken some pictures for you, but I was surly and tired. They had the trailers parked right under my bedroom window.

When a minor indie film was filming on our block many years ago, they didn't keep their voices, or their motors, or anything else quiet. They just fed the neighborhood coffee and pastries.

Ahem. Sorry for the noise.

Hee. I've never actually seen The Wire, or maybe I'd be more tolerant.

It's a good thing Alex's bedroom is at the back of the house, and therefore much quieter. Because if they'd woken her up at 6am, I would've had to kill someone.
