*sniffle*

I feel like someone is standing on my sinuses.

I thought I would go grocery shopping after work, but I'm feeling an overwhelming urge to go home, spend five minutes with a hot wet washcloth pressed against my sinuses, and then fall asleep on the couch with the Olympics in the background.

No. We need dinner. *sigh* Okay. I can do this.

i personally find both boys that i live with and little pizza delivery people to be helpful when i feel like crap and dinner needs to happen.

I didn't cook on Thursday or Friday or Monday or Tuesday. (Only one of those days was because I felt sick - one was because we had plans to go out to dinner with some other people, and the other two were because we had differing evening activities.) At that kind of frequency, the cost of take-out really adds up. And [livejournal.com profile] curiousangel doesn't cook.

It's just a cold. If I were really feeling awful, I'd say the hell with it and order kebobs for dinner. But I can shop.

i, being coldhearted and mercenary, would like to offer the opinion that everyone has to learn sometime and that there's no time like the present.

but since i'm sensing that you're much less of a big meanie than i am, i will shut up now. ;)

*grin* [livejournal.com profile] curiousangel has been doing scads and scads of dishes and laundry, as well as frequently bringing home takeout, so it's not like I tremble at the idea of handing off household chores.

I'm feeling somewhat better. And I'm glad I went shopping, because asparagus was on sale. Tonight we'll have marinated chicken breasts on the George Foreman grill, and asparagus, and I'll make garlic bread from our half-loaf of slightly stale rosemary bread. And I have cookies, and a grapefruit, and orange juice not from concentrate. Food is good.

If Curiousangel would like some good one pan recipes I'd be glad to help him out. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Or, for that matter, I am perfectly capable of going to the store and doing whatever amount of shopping needs to get done. I prefer going with you, because I like being able to bounce ideas off you and give feedback to your ideas, but when you're sick, I will happily do whatever it takes to keep things going.

Yes, takeout can get a little pricy, but we don't do it as often as all that. Anyway, they did my review today, and I'll have a raise coming, so we can afford a few extra luxuries. We'll figure something out when I get home.

Huzzah for wonderful people! If your freezer is too small to hold a few comfort-food items, may I suggest that the closest canned or boxed/powdered whatever equivalent be stocked for just such cases? I'm not always good about doing it myself, but it's on my list of "things I'm giving up for Lent". (I should clarify that. I'm giving up "being more considerate of other people than I am of myself" for Lent.)

I'm giving up "being more considerate of other people than I am of myself" for Lent.

*cheers and whistles* Amen to that! I hope you enjoy it so much that you don't take it up again after Lent (which is the whole idea, right?).

That would be nice. We'll see. Tonight was not quite so successful. I managed to make both the SO and myself miserable by not being more assertive when I wanted very much to see some of the ice skating tonight.

Did anyone happen to tape Thursday night's ice skating?

Yeah, that's one of those habits that's really hard to break. I hope you have better success in the future.

*hug* Poor darling. I'd offer to drive out and get it for you, but I have to stay here for a late breaking change to the observing schedule.

*laugh* I was wondering why I suddenly started feeling better.

Glad to be of service. And take care of your throat, which once again, I seem to have abused. Tea?
