We visited lynsaurus and acceberskoorb and unodelman last night, and played Wii bowling and Dance Dance Revolution. It was totally fun. I like the idea of a game that is social and cooperative - it seems like it would be a nice thing Michael and I could do together.
Then I saw the promos for this game (http://reviews.cnet.com/wii-games/endless-ocean-wii/4505-9993_7-32075570.html), and was totally blown away. I am not a normal computer-game player, but this looks absolutely captivating.
I think Nintendo must have made some sort of unholy compact with an evil power when they started marketing the Wii, because I've been steadfastly refusing to even consider having any sort of gaming console in the house for years. And then people started talking about the Wii Fit and Lego Star Wars and I want one of the damn things now.
we played rock band (a WII game) at a friend's house. OMG seriously fun. ant loved playing drums and singing (though didn't actually sing any of the words - he made up his own). And I was pretty chuffed when I got a 97% on "wave of mutilation" (I sang - hadn't heard the song in at least half a decade).
I am a total sheep. I read fairoriana's post about getting a wii, and a few days later I was at Costco and they had one (in a package with extra controllers and games) and I bought it. Didn't even think about it for more than a couple of seconds.
Of course, my mom and dad have one and love it, and my sister and brother-in-law, and lots of friends, so I had some good feedback on them already.
I am so not a video-game person. I've never been, but the Wii is different, and fun. I think we're really going to enjoy it, and it gives us something to do together that is more active than watching tv after Boo goes to bed.
