I posted those developmental updates while I was away from home yesterday, so I didn't have a chance to add a photo. Here is Alex pretending she can make pie crust singlehandedly.
Oh, wow! She already looks much more grown-up than in your icon. Her face is more little-girl now than big-toddler. Beautiful daughter you both have. :)
That makes me think of when my sister was bemoaning that Charlie, our only nephew at the time, wasn't a baby anymore, and had morphed into a little boy.
Now that he's 14 he's probably as tall as I am now.
I love little girl cooks. K does the eggs when we bake, and she helps with lots of other stuff.
Here she's helping me make cornflake trees. Whee! it's a little old, but I don't seem to get around to uploading stuff to an internetable account much lately...
Looking at the picture again, it does look like foil against the dark countertop, doesn't it? But I actually roll out my piecrusts between two sheets of plastic wrap. Then I can peel off the top sheet, pick up the bottom sheet, and flip it over into the pan.
The foil at the edge of the picture is because we were pre-baking the crust for a chocolate pie, and needed something to hold the raw rice I was using as a pie weight.
