HOLY FUCK, IT'S SNOWING IN BALTIMORE.

I am wearing a canvas field jacket over a thin cotton maternity shirt. The jacket can't be buttoned at the bottom. I have a six-block walk to the light rail when I leave work, followed by a three-block walk from the light rail stop to my house.

Updated to add: Okay, flurries have stopped, but still. That is ridiculous.

I keep wondering what type of winter we're going to have this year with snow flurries in November?!?!?

On another topic - do you need a large winter jacket? I've got my Dad's XL still in the house...somewhere.

NOAA's final estimate says that chances are good for above-average temperatures this winter just about everywhere in the US. Precipitation is a mix; heavier than normal around the Great Lakes, drought throughout the South.

My memory is that the same thing happened during the winter after Hurricane Katrina. Heavy hurricane season, early first snowfall, but one of the mildest winters ever up here in Rochester.

hunh, I should ask my Sister about that winter vs this one. She's down near Jamestown, NY - they've currently got 18" of snow (earliest on record in Years).

I have heard that we're going to have a hard winter - maybe not unusually cold, but lots of snow. Alex and Nori should be thrilled.

My long coat actually closes over a pregnant belly, as I recall. (I'm still wearing the same winter coat that I wore when I was pregnant with Alex.) But thanks!

Hate cold, and love snow, so that sounds great to me! Of course, it'll probably come at the most inconvenient times. We didn't get anything usable last year, so the boys deserve something fun.
