Not feeling well today. Ugh. Vertigo, nausea, fatigue, aches and pains.
Still managed to have a lovely afternoon with
wcg, getting started on putting my ball dress together. I'm at the most basic possible level of learning to use the sewing machine - I pinned and sewed the straight seams on the underskirt, and hemmed it, while Bill was doing amazing things with freehand bodice design.
"It's a simple process of imagining something in 3-D and seeing how it would transfer to 2-D," he explains. "Just like I used to do with model cars and model rockets." Sure... simple. I was in awe, watching him sketch out and cut fifteen or so pieces of willow-green linen that will somehow come together into a neatly fitted whole.
In other news, the Braves won. Yay, Braves!

So, maybe those chicken fingers weren't such a good idea yesterday?
(-;
(Bill is the second man I know who can draft and sew complex garments, BTW, and the other one came to it from the world of set design and construction. So I think he's got something with that "simple process of imagining something in 3-D" thing...)
Will we get to see a picture of the finished gown, preferably modeled by its lovely owner?
