In that first one, he looks so much *older* than a newborn! I think it's the wisp of baby sideburns, but you can almost see what he's going to look like as a toddler.

I don't think he was. But he can lift it up and control it pretty well if he's lying vertically on my chest, and he lifted it once or twice when I put him on his tummy on a blanket. He's got good muscle tone.
