Hey, Boston people!
May. 12th, 2009 11:54 amColin and I are coming to Boston this weekend. We'll be staying with my sister in Jamaica Plain and attending a memorial service for an old friend of mine on Sunday afternoon.
Would anyone like to get together for brunch Sunday morning?

Date: 2009-05-14 06:44 pm (UTC)Here's the deal: I won't have a car. My sister's house and the memorial service are both in JP, so what makes the most sense to me is having brunch somewhere in JP. If someone has two empty seats in their car and wants to pick us up, that would be awesome but I imagine unlikely. Otherwise I'll be walking and/or taking a cab.
Do you have any ideas about finding a place? Should I ask my sister to recommend one?
Also, around 10am seems reasonable to me. Would that work for you?

Date: 2009-05-14 06:53 pm (UTC)I have a car available and would be happy to pick you up if desired. Do you know if your sister is near the T? If so, we could meet up somewhere T-accessible like Chinatown. It's possible that I'm spying an opportunity for Dim sum here. I don't know JP very well -- if your sister has a good recommendation I'd be happy to accept it.
To sum up: I'm happy to facilitate in whatever way works best for you. I was planning on bringing Thane if you'll have Colin, so we'll both be infanted!
10 am would be lovely!

You might want to look at www.mbta.com
You can enter street addresses and time of day, and it will tell you what public transit to take between them. And how long it will take, and how much walking is involved. I've found them very reliable about things like "walk 14 minutes to [bus stop]" and "turn left on Common St. Walk 3 blocks SE on Common St. Bear right on Trapelo and walk approximately 1 block." They have no clue whatsoever how long it takes for the #77 bus to get from here to Harvard Square, but that might be a local problem.
