At the ER. Colin still had no wet diaper by morning - twelve hours. Here, for some mysterious reason, he is perfectly happy to drink the nasty rehydration fluid he fought so hard against at home. Hoping we can avoid an IV.

Aren't hydration fluids supposed to be a bit unenticing when you don't need them? Or is that some sort of urban myth?

IME it's true.

I think it is true that if rehydration drinks taste okay to you, it's a sign that you need them badly. But Colin was well, well past that point. His eyes were sunken, he was completely listless, and he wasn't even making tears when he cried. He still fought the stuff at home.

Looking at your later, more detailed account. could it have been the flavouring? (I have been told a few embarrassing stories by my parents...) Anyway, good to know it turned out well.
