what a sensible, brave thing to do.

it's a defined endpoint. it means that this will not be hanging over your head for the rest of your life. you'll have the first draft gone and out there by thanksgiving.

dissertations are scary creatures, or so i understand, so that's where the brave part comes in. but i knew you were brave.

my one piece of advice is MAKE SOMEONE ELSE HOST THANKSGIVING. don't cook or have people over or anything. having the first draft done by thanksgiving is a doable goal, but based on my limited recollection of school, being hip deep in multiple turkeys and their guts is going to sound like a very attractive option instead of writing. let someone else deal with the turkey guts. it'll be less stressful and less distracting.

It's not already in my head, actually. It's currently imprisoned in the data which I have yet to analyze. (Because it's not all collected yet, so, no peeking.) But yes, once I run my analyses I should be able to draw the results into a fine logical story. I've already written a good introduction, which makes my research questions compelling. I'll just need to be able to slot the answers into it - at least, wherever I've been able to come up with some.
