Safe and well

Misha just came home.

He'd been stressed out all day, and jumped in the car after work to just drive it off. Not thinking clearly, he assumed that I would just figure he hadn't wanted to go dancing, and wouldn't miss him until it was over.

He's fine. After some hysterical crying in his arms, I'm fine myself... still shaky though.

I apologize to anyone who saw my post and was alarmed.

Very glad for relatively less horridness. Thanks for writing promptly.

And: for those cell-o-phobes among us, would pagers do the trick? I dunno the pros and cons.

*grin* No, you didn't call in the middle of the reaquaintance. We had already reached the drinking-tea-and-trying-to-dump-adrenaline stage, which is what followed the hysterical-crying-on-the-one-hand-and-fervent-apologizing-on-the-other-hand stage. I didn't post an update or e-mail anyone back until I could actually let go of him, which took a while.

Really, the main thing is that he's not usually a flake. There are any number of people of my acquaintance for whom, if they didn't show up for four hours after they were expected, I would just be irritated rather than alarmed. He's usually very very good at letting me know where he is. That's why I jumped right to envisioning him dead in a ditch. (Because, see, if he was just injured in a ditch, he would have called me. He would have had to have been hurt badly enough not to be able to give anyone my number. That's what I was picturing.)

Anyway, he's a twit, he knows he's a twit, we have re-established how much we love each other, and now I'm doing my best to calm down, with the help of a shot of whisky. The tea didn't cut it.
